USES OF WEST COUNTRY COMPOST:
Vegetables and Soft Fruit:
Apply top dressing of 5-8cm WCC to soil and fork it in to depth of 15cm.
Roses, Shrubs and Trees
Prior to planting, dig appropriately sized hole and mix in a ratio of one spadeful WCC to two of soil.
General Mulching
WCC may also be used as a surface mulch, benefiting soils through increased moisture retention, slow nutrient release and will also act as a weed suppressant.
Lawns
Apply in spring and autumn, scattering 3-5 handfuls evenly per sq m. This can be raked in or left to settle. When turfing new grounds, spread 5-8cm layer of WCC and gently fork into soil prior to laying turf.
Pot Plants and Containers
When re-potting, mix WCC in equal proportions with peat or coir based compost. For hanging baskets, line with sphagnum moss and fill the same mixture as for re-potting. Alternatively as a top dressing, sprinkle a light layer of WCC around stem of plant.
Flower Beds
WCC may either be dug into beds prior to planting, adding up to 15cm compost, or may be used as a mulch.
PLEASE NOTE: WCC is NOT suitable for ericaceous plants such as azaleas, rhododendrons & other acid-loving plants. WCC is NOT amulti-purpose potting compost.
AS WITH ALL GARDEN PRODUCTS WE RECOMMEND YOU WASH YOUR HANDS AFTER USE.
