USES OF PAIGNTON ZOO POO COMPOST:
VEGETABLES AND SOFT FRUIT
Apply top dressing of 5-8cm Zoo Poo compost to soil and fork it in to a depth of 15cm”. Plant or sow as normal. An additional top dressing applied during the growing season will make sure your plants receive a health boost of natural nutrients.
ROSES, SHRUBS AND TREES
Prior to planting, dig appropriately sized hole and mix in a ratio of one spadeful of Zoo Poo compost to two of soil. Place tree or shrub in position and fill hole with mixture; water immediately. Give established roses and shrubs a good handful as a top dressing when buds begin to form.
GENERAL MULCHING
ZooPoo compost may also be used as a surface mulch, benefiting soils through increased moisture retention, slow nutrient release and will also act as a weed suppressant
LAWNS
To feed your lawn and encourage healthy earthworm activity, apply in spring and autumn, scattering 3-5 handfuls evenly per sq.m. This can be raked in or left to settle. When turfing new ground, spread 5-8cm layer of Zoo Poo compost and gently fork into soil prior to laying turf.
POT PLANTS & CONTAINERS
When re-potting, mix Zoo Poo compost in equal proportions with top soil to assist drainage. Alternatively, mix Zoo Poo compost with an equal amount of peat or coir based compost. As a top dressing, sprinkle up to 5cm of ZooPoo compost around stem of plant. For hanging baskets, line with sphagnum moss and fill with same mixture as for re-potting.
FLOWER BEDS
ZooPoo compost may either be dug into beds prior to planting, adding up to 15cm compost, or may be used as a mulch.
Please note: Zoo Poo compost is not suitable for ericaceous plants such as azaleas, rhododendrons & other acid-loving plants. Zoo Poo compost is NOT a multi-purpose potting compost.
AS WITH ALL GARDEN PRODUCTS WE RECOMMEND YOU WASH YOUR HANDS AFTER USE.
